A few days after the family left Sam & Marissa arrived. It was great to see Sammy and eventually meet Marissa. With the Sydney festival in full swing, we decided to go along to the Jazz night on Saturday, taking with us our esky (or cool box) and picnic. We are starting to get into the Oz way of life and what a great way to spend the afternoon / evening.
The jazz night was in Hyde Park in the centre of town. We worked our way through the gathering crowds, found a spot, laid out our bed sheet (need to get a blanket!) and made ourselves comfy, cracking open the vino and some nibbles. I have to say I’m pleased I took the bed sheet as it marked out a large territory for us, which was good as Sian seemed to have got in rent a crowd under the pretence of friends!
The night turned out to be very enjoyable, the music was ok, but after mucho vino everyone was up dancing by the end of the night, regardless of whether the music was good or not! Realising we had maybe drank a bit too much wine, after the event we headed back to the flat, where the wine definitely caught up with Sam who didn’t quite realise that the ground below the balcony was in fact our downstairs neighbour’s garden! No harm done, I was quick to get the watering can out and wash away any evidence.
With Sam & Marissa leaving today, we have a few hours until Bear & Emily arrive – yippeeee!
